The TACS-XL® In Situ Apoptosis Detection Kit – Blue Label is a TUNEL assay designed for fixed cells, embedded tissue, and frozen tissue using light and electron microscopy. This kit utilizes a novel approach for the detection of apoptosis that is based on incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) at the 3’ OH ends of the DNA fragments that form during apoptosis. This detection system uses a biotin conjugated anti-BrdU antibody and streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase.
